As a licensed retailer of alcoholic beverages, The Barley Sheaf operates a responsible attitude towards drinking alcohol.

Should you appear to be under the age of 21, you will be asked for photographic ID. For accepted forms of ID, click here.

Although you may not be refused service on the grounds of race, sex, sexuality, religion or disability, the management nevertheless retains a right at all times to refuse service to anyone otherwise.

You must now be aged 18 to buy tobacco products, including Rizlas, and will be asked for ID if you appear to be under 21.

The Barley Sheaf is part of the Caradon Area Pub Watch Scheme, which means that if you commit a serious antisocial act in any one of the pubs included in the scheme, you will not only be barred from the pub you commit the crime in, you will also be barred from entering all of the Liskeard pubs participating, which currently includes The Barley Sheaf, The Fountain Hotel & Cascades, The White Horse, The Albion, The Railway, The Old Stag, The Liskeard Royal British Legion, The Liskeard Conservative Club and The Liskeard Liberal Club, and all shops selling alcohol including the Somerfields, the Co-op, Morrisons, Spa, Alldays and Threshers Off Licence.

Joining the scheme shortly are the Market Inn and Stag Inn at St Cleer, the Highwayman at Dobwalls, and all the pubs in Looe.

Legally, the management must refuse you service if you are intoxicated. Details are documented here. You can read the UK Governments guidelines regarding safe drinking here.
